Summary

Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant for their corporate office. Reporting to the Manager of Corporate Accounting, this role will involve preparing accounting transactions and reconciliations, with a strong emphasis on ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls.

Responsibilities

  • Post entries and perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes for assigned areas, ensuring timely and accurate recording and reconciliation to the general ledger.
  • Ensure monthly records are accurate, delivered on time per corporate deadlines, and SOX compliant.
  • Document and test internal controls, preparing related documentation.
  • Conduct regular assessments of internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Develop business continuity plans, desktop procedures, and checklists.
  • Improve existing processes for enhanced quality, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Assist in preparing audit schedules and support foreign subsidiary Controllers with corporate-level requirements for statutory audits.
  • Undertake special projects and other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • CPA preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant financial experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in SAP with working knowledge of SAP FICO preferred.
  • Experience with OneStream beneficial.
  • Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.) strongly preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong work ethic and sense of urgency.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Customer service orientation with strong follow-up and follow-through.
  • Understanding of accounting and financial principles (IFRS and/or US GAAP).
  • Strong influencing, collaboration, and critical thinking skills.
