Summary
Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant for their corporate office. Reporting to the Manager of Corporate Accounting, this role will involve preparing accounting transactions and reconciliations, with a strong emphasis on ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls.
Responsibilities
- Post entries and perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes for assigned areas, ensuring timely and accurate recording and reconciliation to the general ledger.
- Ensure monthly records are accurate, delivered on time per corporate deadlines, and SOX compliant.
- Document and test internal controls, preparing related documentation.
- Conduct regular assessments of internal controls over financial reporting.
- Develop business continuity plans, desktop procedures, and checklists.
- Improve existing processes for enhanced quality, efficiency, and compliance.
- Participate in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
- Assist in preparing audit schedules and support foreign subsidiary Controllers with corporate-level requirements for statutory audits.
- Undertake special projects and other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- CPA preferred.
- 5+ years of relevant financial experience preferred.
- Proficiency in SAP with working knowledge of SAP FICO preferred.
- Experience with OneStream beneficial.
- Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.) strongly preferred.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong work ethic and sense of urgency.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Customer service orientation with strong follow-up and follow-through.
- Understanding of accounting and financial principles (IFRS and/or US GAAP).
- Strong influencing, collaboration, and critical thinking skills.
